Feedback That Frees

Unbound Pages is a unique book club that connects passionate volunteers with incarcerated writers in the Writers Guild programs. Together, through Crime & Compassion Inc. and Second Story Books, we read and provide thoughtful feedback to these students’ short stories and novels.

How It Works

Read: Short stories and novels are securely sent to volunteers through our website.

Meet: Volunteers gather monthly on Tuesdays at Second Story Books in Oklahoma City to read and discuss our students’ stories.

Empower: Feedback is sent to our students via a checklist so they can feel encouraged and motivated to hone their craft.

The Results: An Anthology

Our incarcerated students now have an anthology of short stories entitled Unbound Ink: Of Mercy and Madness (Volume I) that belongs to them. Each short story received careful, compassionate feedback from Unbound Pages volunteers. Our students also chose to dedicate their book to the volunteers.
